Default What's your favorite thing to do down the shore?

I was wondering, what is your favorite thing to do on the shore? One thing I love is people watching, the other is eating, then of course there is the ocean - which is beautiful and so relaxing.

BTW - although I love fishing and crabbing, I haven't done it in years and years.
New Jersey is the only state honored by two resorts at Walt Disney World. The Beach Club Resort, modeled after Historic Cape May and The Boardwalk Resort, after Atlantic City. If the Jersey Shore is good enough for Walt Disney to recreate, isn't the REAL Jersey Shore even better for you and your family?

I'm on board with the fishing and crabbing too. I also like to visit the boardwalk at Point Pleasant because that's where we used to go when I was a kid, and it still has the same feel for me.

It's sort of odd that you say PT Pleasant has the same feel for you, because actually doesn't for me. I went to school just a few blocks away from the boardwalk. I don't go there as much though, I mostly go to Seaside now, so that could be another reason why. But we did often go to both Seaside and Pt Pleasant while I was growing up. I can just smell the pizza at the boardwalk and hear the games clanging. The boardwalk has a certain feel to it, which to me is very energizing.

    Default favorite shore activities

When I go to the Jersey shore I usually need candy from Criterion and grab a candy apple.

I love to relax on the beach listening to the ocean and go swimming on the waves. Walk along the shore looking for nice shells. Total relaxation!
I like to get my kite into the air.
(To my surprise I was told I couldn't fly my kite in Wildwood last year. There weren't even many people around. I like to lay on my towel and keep an eye on the kite. Is there anything they haven't taken the fun out of?)

I usually went to Ocean Grove although it has now gained in popularity. I used to like the old, quiet setting then I'd wander down the boardwalk to see the decaying amusement buildings in neighboring Asbury Park. Get depressed by the seahorses falling off the old Casino building and fantasizing if I could snag one and fit it in my car.

HAVE to go eat dinner at the Windmill (cheeseburger) before heading home.

The only thing I hated was being kicked off the beach at night (in Belmar). There's nothing more beautiful than sitting on the beach when it's a full moon watching and listening to the waves.

Thumbs up Keeping the 2 boys busy!

One place we like to go to is called Big Brook it is between Marlboro and Manalapan. There is a stream there that you can sift through the bottom clay and sand sort of like digging for gold but you can find fossilized shark teeth. When we go we all have a great time.

Visit lighthouses, sit back, relax, drink a beer, BBQ, and enjoy the fresh air.
