Welcome Restauranta - I've moved this thread to general discussion. I have to say, you have a lot of cats. :)

Are we supposed to introduce ourselves when we're new?

I guess this could start conversations or questions.

Here goes:

I'm 42 and single
Born in Elizabeth, NJ but was only there for 3 years
Grew up in Colonia
Moved to Woodsville then Princeton, Lawrenceville, Ewing and back to Princeton for most of my adult life.
Spent 1 week a year in Belmar during the summer while growing up.
(Sang with my cousins and sister in the Pavilion for kiddie talent show
nights...still hard to believe its a McDonalds. Guess I should be glad it's still
there) As an adult loved Ocean Grove (it was quiet - mostly senior
citizens).

My chemistry degree got me a job at Bell Labs in Hopewell. I wound up doing UNIX support then eventually PC support. After 14 years I jumped ship to Covance in Princeton for 3 years. Then I decided to try working with animals.
I (HORROR) moved to Willow Grove, PA to attend Manor College for Veterinary Technology. After graduation I worked in Princeton and moved to Bensalem, PA. I moved one more town closer to NJ and now work in Yardley, PA at a holistic animal hospital (you can ask me about acupuncture and stuff like that).

My userid comes from the fact I love American muscle cars...and I do love Grand Nationals even though they have 6 cylinder engines. Used to be a big Devils fan (Lemieux & Richer lover - Scotty Gomez has a great smile)... Like to skate, fish... I have a small parrot. My lab mouse from college just died a few weeks ago :(

Been to Hawaii 4 times...didn't want to come back the last trip.
Been to Bermuda 3 times.
Went all over the US and Canada on Devils Fan Club trips.
I love New Orleans...it is (was?) so unusual . It HAS to be rebuilt.
Went to Vegas once. Very interesting and entertaining place (I don't gamble).
And speaking of gambling I miss Atlantic City. It is now barely recognizable. I walked invisible dogs on the boardwalk, rode bikes on the boardwalk and had a ball down there as a kid. Walking into Planter's was heavenly. Can you get fresh, hot roasted peanuts any where? I don't know how they have the nerve to give you bags of cold peanuts at hockey games! I definitely need a time machine.

Enough babbling.
Wendy

Wendy - you sure have been to a lot of places. You know though - if you stayed in Hawaii - you would have been REALLY far from NJ. So why did you USED to be a big Devils fan? :)

As for this thread, most messageboards have a welcome thread, at least the friendly ones do. :) The post starter though is most likely a spammer, sinc ehtat was their only post and they start out by saying "I forgot to post that I am new". You wouldn't believe the spam attacks the board has been under this past week. I've had top delete numerous members and posts, all advertising.

BTW - I have a red Trans Am. :)

You are very isolated in Hawaii but I am so at peace on Maui.
Everyone who goes there feels that same way.
It is interesting and so different. Everone should stand out in the
middle of Volcanoes National Park. You feel like you are on another planet.
Lava as far as the eye can see in every direction. (Volcanoes is on Hawaii)
I've been through enough. My life has had too many big bumps. I could go
off and get away from the rat race and just finish my life somewhere
peaceful. I never get sick of fresh pineapple and good teriyaki beef. :)
So much changes that a lot of my favorite places and stores are gone or
are in ruins. A friend who lived in Ocean Grove died this Christmas (too
young) so even though I was thinking it was time to head to the beach I
can not go there. Upsets me just thinking about it.

I started going to Devils games in the mid-80s. Went through all the
disappointments up through the Cups. As ticket prices rose everyone
around us could only afford fewer tickets. People "took turns" going to
games. I get very disgusted with greed. Since I went back to school full
time and blew my savings, games are not afforable to me. My current job
doesn't pay much, especially when you are paying off student loans. They
charge horrendous prices for bad food. The strike put me over the edge.
I don't think sports stars deserve what they get paid.
(I miss Doc Emrick - What a fantastic guy. I sat right behind him. He would
share his popcorn, press releases, etc. We had a conversation that was
interrupted because he had to go on camera. When he was done he came
and sat on the step next to me in his nice suit to finish talking.)
I have a lot of nice NJ reminiscences to sustain me.

I am so fed up with nonsense like that...Don't people have better things to
do with their time and energy?!?!? (Apparently not...)

What year? I have a Black 99 Camaro SS
