View Full Version : AC Mayors

Another week down, another weekend at the shore, taking in the South Jersey shore media - the local paper is reporting that the current Atlantic City Mayor who has been embroiled in controversey is close to retiring and on another - his 4th or 5th - medical leave. This town has had more corrupt mayors than Chicago! If they are not taking money from corrupt organizations they are bilking it out of the poor taxpayers - bringing suits that the poor city has to pay! Apparently it is quite a scandal down there. The residents have been stuck with the bill for a bunch of lawsuits and settlements - the word is a female cop is suing the city as we speak - and paying them off has driven the town under so that they don't have money to hire cops or clean up the place. Any Atlantic City insiders got the skinny?

Now the word is that the mayor of Atlantic City left word with one of the council people that he is on medical leave but nobody knows where he is. He is gone and his car is gone and nobody answers the phone at his house and nobody has seen him! This is turning into a real mystery!

NJBarb -

I just wanted to say - Fox News has been having this on all day about the Atlantic city Mayor just picking up and leaving. the city council is scratching it's head not having any idea what is going on. Supposedly he called and told someone (can't remember) that they were mayor now!

ONLY IN NEW JERSEY! You know though - it won't matter - the voters will still vote in the same corrupt politicians. Have you seen that Sharpe James still has a high approval rating????

Voters keep complaining - but they vote for the same people over and over!

It seems that the mayor of AC returned from a "treatment center" and yesterday he resigned - it was all over the news and every news person from the Philly reporters down to a few small local talk radio hosts are taking credit for "breaking" the story! NJN had some of the swearing in of the new mayor and he doesnt present much better than the last one - can they find one guy to fill the office who doesnt have the vocabulary of a seventh grader and sound like a corner thug?
Sharpe James is depressing to think about - but then once in a while someone like Steve Lonegan will get elected so it all balances out I guess.
