Hello all,

Sorry I have been away for awhile, it's been a hective back to school time for me.

It looks like my cub scout pack is going to go camping in December/january timeframe for the first time. We are only taking the older scouts (10/11 years old), we want to stay in a private campground (so we can bring popups and campers) and we want to stay somewhere in/near the Water Gap.

I have a list of campgrounds in that area but I was hoping that somebody on this board might have some personal knowledge/experience with winter camping in that area.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Hey Eric, I;m going to have to look up some information on this. Do you have any ideas on where you are thinking about camping? The Pine Barrens or the Skylands Region?

If you find out any information can you share it here online?

Hey,

We want to head up to the Delaware Water Gap area so it will be the Skylands region.

I will share as soon as I can.

I haven't had a chance to start calling up there just yet.

You should definitely have to take the warm clothes with you. You will also have to take the proper tents and some good food items as well as coal and kerosene oil with you. You should also plan the location properly. You can certainly not choose Alaska.

I think Alaska is for Pro campers.
